Sloane News Day: The Quarterly Sloane Curtis Newsletter (Q3)
Projects
It’s been another busy and productive quarter, with lots of project handovers, exciting milestones and new work secured.
This quarter saw the successful completion of our Travelodge Scarborough, Dunelm St Albans and Former Poundland Cheshunt projects.
We’re also getting close to handing over three more projects across October: including jobs in Milton Keynes, Maidenhead, and Atherstone.
Work is progressing well across our Basingstoke and Bromley projects too.
Supporting our Community
We recently donated £12,000 to Hitchin Boys’ School, a secondary school local to our Baldock office. The donation will support students, staff, projects and facilities. We're delighted to contribute to the fantastic work the school does and hope this donation has a meaningful impact.
Team News
We’ve had lots of work anniversaries to celebrate this quarter (we also had a few from last quarter that we couldn’t let go by unannounced!).
Please join us in congratulating the team:
Our MD, Dave Tarbuck and Senior Project Manager, Wayne Sykes both celebrated seven years in August.
September marked seven years for Commercial Director, Manoj Parmar.
Rimas Dainauskas, Site Manager, will celebrate seven years this month.
Team News
We’ve also been keeping busy outside of our projects, with members of the team getting involved in key industry events. Nicholla Body, Business Development Manager, and Sophie Bunting, Marketing Apprentice, attended UK Construction Week Birmingham, where they met with industry professionals during a Women in Construction session.
Getting to know the Team
It’s always nice to find out a little more about the team, today’s spotlight is on our Project Director, Phil Weaver...
What’s your favourite thing about your role as Project Director?
Every day is different and brings a new challenge. The role can be very rewarding.
What project have you enjoyed working on most since you’ve been here, and why?
Merry Hill, Birmingham. The challenge was delivering a concept store within just 12 weeks. It was a great experience getting everyone to work together as a team and making the project a success.
What's a fun fact that people might be surprised to learn about you?
I once met Madonna when she came to open the flagship Gap store on Oxford Street.
