Sloane Curtis invest in new warehouse following continued growth

29th January 2019

Following three consecutive years of growth of circa 50% year on year, Sloane Curtis has made a further property investment in new warehouse facilities in Hertfordshire, benefitting clients and staff alike.

Located in Baldock, Hertfordshire, the new 560m2 warehouse complete with Mezz Floor, will allow more works to be carried out off-site which will benefit clients and the sites by:-

  • Reduction in Waste materials
  • Shorter Build times
  • Controlled build environment
  • Less noise, dust and local disruption

The facility also enables us to hold bulk project materials off-site, freeing up workspace on site, saving time and money for our clients in the process.

The new facilities also allow us to secure our heavy machinery including forklifts, CNC machines and access equipment. A separate new training centre has been built to provide training facilities for staff and apprentices.

Sloane Curtis already own two other properties in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, housing head office staff and providing a central works facility for our skilled workforce.

This new investment is part of our long-term growth plan, helping to ensure that client projects are efficiently and expertly delivered.

50% year on year growth expected to continue

2018 was yet another strong year for Sloane Curtis, completing of significant refurbishment and fit-out projects right across the UK and Ireland for customers including Associated British Foods plc, Atrium Stores, Silver spoon, Heatons Stores, Sports Direct, USC, Flannels and The Flight Centre.

Projects undertaken during the year involved completely stripping out numerous existing large retail stores back to the core shells, before completing total refurbishments.  Other commercial projects required major structural alterations to accommodate new lifts and staircases, and completely refurbishing a shopping mall both inside and out. As ever, the team rose to the challenge and delivered on every level of each project.

Many of the projects that we undertook were to very tight timescales (some of only 8 weeks), and required works to be carried out around the clock. We are proud to say that we completed all works on time and within budgets.

Our exceptionally high standards of works, our flexibility around timings and high health, safety and quality standards, have already secured a strong order book for 2019 which is set to see us achieve similar growth to previous years.
